Day 2: Ariana

As the second day of laser cutting, I continued to work on my diorama project. Most of my days efforts were put into detailing the fish in adobe illustrator. With the few hours I had in the morning I completed the fish details and in the afternoon I started on the background and foreground elements surrounding the fish.

I kept the edges straight instead of rounded because if I had round edges it would've been easier to spot mistakes, and imperfections and it's also because I prefer these random angular blob-shaped shapes rather than smooth shapes.

there were a few mishaps with the fish detailing today, first I realized I had an overwhelming amount of layers. I didn't mind it at first but as I continued to work the layers kept multiplying and creating sublayers within sublayers. Eventually I had to find a way to merge them. And saddening news it was. It turns out I cant merge layers unless they are of the same "Hierarchy." So that was a bummer. But even so, I still managed to finish the fish.

tomorrow I plan on finishing the environment around the fish and separating the three parts of the fish and spreading all the different pieces out to prepare them for laser cutting.
