Day 4: Josey
Each day of this J-term has become increasingly more exciting, and today was no exception. Since everyone was able to start printing their designs, we were able to check in on everyone elses progress and it was fun to see all the different ideas start to take place on paper. This morning we started off by choosing the specific colors we would want to print our dioramas on, then we took a trip to Texas Art supply, where we searched through the immense paper collection to find the perfect shades for our dioramas. Being a somewhat indecisicve person, it took me a while to find the right papers with the infiinate shades they had available, but eventually I settled on some that hopefully end up looking nice in my diorama. Even with as many choices as they had it was difficult to image what my design would look like printed, but hopefully on Monday I'll be able to test it out!

In the afternoon I added even more edits to my shadowbox. I spent a huge amount of time making countless windows to add details to my buildings, but it was 100% worth it. After printing my design with new buildings and new windows, making the stars smaller because of the way the light would shine through and making some of the structures in the background more proportional, I am very happy with the results that were printed and can't wait to start assembling! I also spent some time in the afternoon cutting out foam core strips, which will go between the layers of my shadowbox to give it depth. At first I was happy with my shadowbox design, but with each edit I have made I have seen so much added detail and improvement and I am super excited to see the final product. My design seems to be a testiment to how the more work you put in, the better it is going to come out. Even though it was tedious to add all the windows and also to go back and make small changes that caused me to have to completely reprint, I am glad that I did because I am very happy with how it has turned out so far.
